Coed Caerdydd sets out programme for local community engagement

Message from Coed Caerdydd:
We are holding a series of community engagement meetings about new tree planting across Cardiff and we’d love you to get involved!

Cardiff Council’s Coed Caerdydd is an ambitious 10-year programme of tree canopy expansion in Cardiff, linked to the city’s One Planet climate change strategy. These community engagement meetings are a great opportunity to have your say on potential tree planting sites and events for autumn 2022 - spring 2023.

We would like to engage with local residents and community groups to find out more about suggested sites, how they are locally used, and co-design tree planting arrangements to provide the best outcomes for nature and people. We are also open to further site suggestions to add to our list for detailed scoping.

These first events will be to discuss general ideas and potential sites for tree planting across Cardiff. This will be followed by more targeted in-person and further digital community events over the summer to get feedback on specific sites and promote planting events.

All are welcome, and we’ve tried to arrange days / timings which will suit most.

• Saturday 28th May, 1.30-3pm
• Wednesday 1st June, 10-11.30am and 4-5.30pm
• Saturday 11th June, 1.30-3pm
